Oasis North America Reunion Tour 2024: Everything You Need to Know

Oasis North America Reunion Tour 2024

Fans of Oasis, one of the most iconic rock bands in music history, have reason to celebrate as the band is officially reuniting for a highly anticipated tour across North America next year. After years of speculation and excitement, the band, led by the famous Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, is back together, bringing their legendary music to some of the biggest stages in North America. Here’s everything you need to know about this monumental event.

North American Tour Dates and Venues

Oasis will be performing at five major venues across North America, covering both the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Each show promises to be a night filled with the band’s biggest hits and perhaps even a few surprises. Below is the official schedule for Oasis’ North American leg of the reunion tour:

  • August 24, 2024: Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
  • August 28, 2024: Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, USA
  • August 31, 2024: MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA
  • September 6, 2024: Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA
  • September 12, 2024: Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Mexico

These stadiums are some of the largest venues available, meaning that Oasis is expecting an enormous turnout. Each venue holds tens of thousands of seats, ensuring as many fans as possible get the chance to see the band live.

In addition to the band’s thrilling performances, Cage the Elephant, an award-winning American rock band known for hits like “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” and “Cigarette Daydreams,” will be opening for Oasis at all of these North American tour dates. This adds another layer of excitement to the show, as Cage the Elephant has its own huge fanbase and an energetic stage presence that sets the tone for what is sure to be an unforgettable night.

Presale and General Ticket Information

For those looking to secure tickets early, presale registration is now open on the official Oasis website. Fans have until Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET to register, giving them priority access to tickets before they become available to the general public. This early registration period is crucial, as the band’s last presale in the U.K. sold out in record time.

If you miss out on the presale, don’t worry. General ticket sales will officially begin on Friday at 12 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster. With Ticketmaster being the official ticket vendor, fans can purchase tickets directly from their platform. Additionally, there will be other resale platforms available for those looking to buy tickets secondhand. However, fans are advised to purchase from reputable sources to avoid potential issues with counterfeit or overpriced tickets.

In a press release, the band’s management confirmed that this North American tour will only be one part of a larger, global tour. Oasis plans to visit other continents outside of Europe and North America in the latter part of the year, bringing their music to fans worldwide.

The Band’s Bold Message to North American Fans

In announcing the North American leg of the tour, Oasis didn’t hold back their excitement or boldness. They directly addressed their U.S. fanbase with a statement that showed the band’s characteristic mix of confidence and defiance:
“America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along.”

This statement carries significant weight, considering the band’s history. Oasis had its share of success in the United States, but their popularity has always been stronger in Europe, particularly in the U.K. Now, after more than a decade of separation, they are challenging their North American fans to prove their loyalty by attending the reunion shows.

A Reunion After 15 Years of Feuding

The news of Oasis’ reunion comes after a prolonged period of tension and conflict between the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, who have famously been at odds for years. Their heated disagreements often made headlines, contributing to the band’s split in 2009. Fans had all but given up hope of seeing Oasis perform together again, especially given the brothers’ notoriously turbulent relationship.

However, in a turn of events that no one could have predicted, Liam and Noel put aside their differences last month to announce their first set of reunion tour dates for the U.K. and Ireland. The tickets for these shows sold out instantly, with over 10 million fans queueing online to secure their spots. This unprecedented demand for tickets set a new record, making it the biggest tour launch in the region’s history.

Ticket Controversy and Dynamic Pricing Issues

While the excitement for Oasis’ reunion has been sky-high, their U.K. and Ireland tour dates were not without controversy. As Variety reported, the on-sale event for Oasis’ U.K. shows was the biggest — and most controversial — ticket sale since Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

The controversy stemmed from Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model, a system that adjusts ticket prices based on real-time demand. Dynamic pricing was designed to deter scalpers and ticket resellers from hiking up prices. However, it often leads to inflated prices for fans who are trying to purchase tickets directly. Many fans found themselves priced out of attending the shows, leading to an outcry on social media and in the press.

In response to this backlash, Oasis adjusted their ticketing strategy for future events, including the North American leg of the tour. For the North American shows, the band has announced that dynamic pricing will not be used, opting instead for more traditional ticketing methods. The band’s management released a statement explaining the decision:

“It is widely accepted that dynamic pricing remains a useful tool to combat ticket touting and keep prices for a significant proportion of fans lower than the market rate and thus more affordable. However, when unprecedented ticket demand (where the entire tour could be sold many times over the moment tickets go on sale) is combined with technology that cannot cope with that demand, it becomes less effective and can lead to an unacceptable experience for fans.”

The statement continued: “We have made this decision for the North America tour to hopefully avoid a repeat of the issues fans in the U.K. and Ireland experienced recently.”

By taking this step, Oasis hopes to make tickets more accessible to fans and avoid the chaos and frustration that surrounded their previous on-sale events.

A Tour for the Ages: What to Expect

As Oasis gears up for their North American tour, fans are buzzing with excitement. The band’s setlist is expected to include their biggest hits, including classics like “Wonderwall,” “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” and “Champagne Supernova.” With their signature Britpop sound and the raw energy that defined their earlier performances, Oasis is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience for both die-hard fans and newcomers alike.

Beyond their musical legacy, the brothers’ return to the stage together will undoubtedly be a historic moment in music history. The reunion marks the end of a 15-year hiatus that many believed would never come to an end. For longtime fans, this may be the last chance to see Oasis live, making the tour all the more significant.

The North American tour, with Cage the Elephant as their opening act, is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about events of 2024. With massive stadium venues, a nostalgic yet fresh performance style, and the promise of more global dates to come, Oasis’ return to North America is bound to be legendary.
