15 NES Games That Deserve a Sequel
Yes, you should probably update the base duck hunt concept to make one duck hunting the sequel lasts more than a few minutes, but the original game has a simple fun that has persisted over the years and can be used as the basis for an entertaining modern game (if done right).
14. Demon Sword
This is a largely obscure relic from the NES’s considerable collection of classics, and if I’m being honest there are quite a few reasons why this game was buried by so many other memorable NES action titles.
However, I love the idea of a game that revolves around a weapon of fate that upgrades the player as they progress. This action title has a simple joy that is complemented by demon sword‘s fantastic style, music and world.
13. Steel blades
With respect to every hardcore hockey fan out there, I feel like hockey games are better when they’re relatively simple. When it comes to simpler, arcade-style hockey games, few have ever done better than Steel blades.
With its fast-paced gameplay and memorable combat mini-games, Steel blades is a gift that just keeps on giving. I know Konami doesn’t really make games anymore (at least in the traditional sense), but this purely enjoyable gem definitely deserves a sequel.
12. Journey to Silius
Travel to Silius started as a Terminator adaptation, but when developer Sunsoft lost the rights to that property, they were forced to change the project’s graphics, plot, and characters to avoid any association with the James Cameron movie.
