Tadap Box Office Day 1: Ahan Shetty’s Debut Film Opens Well

Although this column predicted that Sajid Nadiadwala’s production had the potential to take off in the range of 3-4 million dollars, the movie has done better by bringing in 4.25 crores* on his first day.

Even before the pandemic, this would have been a good start, but what makes it better is that the situation is not back to normal yet and audiences have yet to get used to watching movies in the cinema again rather than in the comfort of their house.

After Tiger Shroff, Ahan Shetty starrer Tadap is the second example of a good start for a star boy on his debut and incidentally both were supported by Nadiadwala Grandson. In Heropanti’s case, Sabbir Khan was at the helm and now a highly experienced director Milan Luthria has ensured that the dramatic affair at least finds an opening. The promotion and marketing had done their job, while Pritam’s music also played a big part in Tadap’s good start.

The reports for the film are fair to good and that should ensure that there is at least a reasonable growth during the rest of the weekend. As long as 15 crores sign is crossed by the movie before the weekdays kickstart, it would be fair enough to build a platform. From then on, it would be the content that would do the talking.
