5 best shows and movies on Sony LIV, Amazon Prime Video and Lionsgate Play
1. Jai Bhim – Amazon Prime Video
A film that has already made the right sound since its release, Jai Bhim starring Suriya as Chandru, a real-life lawyer who fought for the rights of Scheduled tribes, is a film not to be missed. Jai Bhim is a raw, sometimes hard-to-watch portrayal of the atrocities that tribes of the Irula community go through and with the police responsible for their brutality, the film enjoys its pulsating courtroom scenes led by Suriya.
2. Gullak – SonyLiv
One of the top rated TV shows from India, Gullak in its second season is a show that celebrates almost every Indian family. Located in cozy streets in the heart of the country, it is a collection of funny and highly recognizable stories of the Mishra family. With Jameel Khan and Geetanjali Kulkarni, Gullak will be a really good diversion with 10 really fun episodes.
3. Fleabag – Amazon Prime Video
A show about a lady from London who hits all the bumps as she lives her life. She is scarred by her past, but is unashamedly herself. How she handles certain situations and at the same time keeps a conversation about the fourth wall going with the audience, that makes flea bag a special show. The only complaint I have from flea bag is that there is no more of it.
4. Now You See Me – Lionsgate Play
I guarantee a movie will keep you hooked and completely cut off from your reality. Now You See Me is about four street magicians who loot a lot of money from an insurance lord. FBI agents are after them and they should use their gift of deceit to pull off this heist successfully. Now you see MStarring Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Mark Ruffalo.
5. Family Man – Amazon Prime Video
There seems to be only one question on everyone’s mind, what’s the trailer from? Family man season 2? While we wait for that and the eventual release of the second season this year, binge-watching the first season might be the best suggestion you’ve been given all day. With Manoj Bajpayee as the brilliant Shrikant Tiwari, a middle-class man who leads a double life where he is also a field agent, Family man is a funny, but sharply written drama about how a man juggles between his family and matters of national security.
