Will Val Chmerkovskiy Leave Dancing with the Stars After Season 30?

Is Dancing with the stars about to lose another of its iconic pros in Val Chmerkovskiy? At this point, the signs seem to suggest that.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the two-time Mirrorball Champ made it clear that after leaving Olivia Jade, he may be looking to his future:

“I’ve always been very clear about coming back to the show. I love the show. I love standing on it. I am so thankful for the opportunity, is this my last season? Probably. Probably. I don’t regret my tenure on the show. I don’t regret the season. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to end it with.”

So why would Val leave? He indicated that he currently has no ill will towards DWTS or one of the people behind the scenes; instead, this feels like a case of him just wanting to move on and do other things. This show takes up much of the year, even if it’s only one season a year at the moment. Val did note that the door will remain open going forward, so don’t necessarily treat these comments as a final departure.

Ultimately, there are many reasons why Val could come back — think of a great partner moving forward, or an itch he wants to scratch down the road. Sometimes feelings change a good six or seven months later – Val is saying this just now after being on the show for a long time this season. Once he’s rested and refreshed, who knows?
