Windows 11 Laptops: What to expect, how to watch live stream
Many people are looking forward to the launch of Windows 11 next month. However, just a few days before that, the company is hosting another event, where it will launch its new Surface hardware to match Windows 11. During the event, we expect the company to give us a deep dive into all the products it will be launching in the coming months. Here we’ll look at everything we expect Microsoft to launch at its Surface event on September 22.
When is the event, how do you watch livestream?
Microsoft is hosting the upcoming Surface event tomorrow, i.e. September 22, at 8:30 PM IST. The company will livestream the event on its official website, which you can access at this link.
Surface Duo 2
One of the most exciting products we’ve seen from Microsoft in recent years is the Surface Duo, and now it’s time for the second version. We’ve seen leaked images of the upcoming Surface Duo 2 recently, and it doesn’t look like much has changed in terms of design.
Leaked images of the Surface Duo 2 show dual folding screens (5.8 inches each) separated by a hinge. There seems to be a bulky camera protrusion on the back, with three lenses: wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and telephoto. The inner display also has a selfie camera.
The device will reportedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and will feature a high refresh rate display. It comes with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC.
Surface Pro 8″
The company is rumored to be launching a Surface Pro 8, which will mark it as the flagship device to introduce Windows 11, just as it was originally used to launch Windows 8 in 2012.
The Surface Pro 8 will feature a new design, along with a slew of accessories and peripherals made just for it. The new laptop gets a larger screen with smaller bezels and comes with Thunderbolt support. It is expected to be powered by 11th generation Intel Core processors.
Surface Book 4
Surface Book 4 will be the company’s flagship laptop. It is also expected to get a completely new design, with the company dropping the detachable design in favor of a tethered display. This time around, the Surface Book 4 could be a classic convertible with a 14-inch screen, a larger trackpad, and Nvidia RTX graphics.
It is also said that the company could also change the name of the laptop to “Book4”, “Laptop Pro” or “Laptop Studio”.
Surface Pro X
Surface Pro X may not get a redesign, but this time it can be turned into an always-connected device. The device is said to get a better chipset, faster refresh rate and minor upgrades.
Surface Go 3
Surface Go 3 gets a specs upgrade, without expecting any other design changes. It is rumored to come with an Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y processor and a more expensive version powered by the Intel Core i3-10100Y processor with LTE.
Other devices
The company is expected to launch a new Surface Pen for the Surface Book 4 with better haptic support. It is also expected to unveil new Signature Type Covers. Reports also suggest that the company could launch an updated Surface Headphones 2 or Surface Earbuds during the event.
