In this blog we will discuss in detail everything that has to do with Crysis 4. Crysis is an action-adventure first-person shooter video game franchise from Crytek. The franchise started in 2007 with its first title, Crysis. The Crysis franchise is known for the realistic physics and graphics that Crytek has achieved with CryEngine. CryEngine is Crytek’s internal game engine, now free to the public with a royalty system.

Crysis franchise deals in the distant future where a specialized exoskeleton suit has been developed called Nanosuit. This Nanosuit can grant its wearer a number of special abilities. Those special skills are: Maximum power, Maximum speed, Maximum shieldand Invisibility (called cloaking). The game takes place during the time when mankind first contacted an alien species called the cephalopods or just Cephs. These aliens are technologically advanced and actually arrived on Earth many millions of years ago. During the games, they try to wipe out all of humanity, which certain individuals try to prevent, Nanosuit users. The main objective is to prevent the extermination of humanity by Cephs in the first two Crysis games. Crysis 3 is about a revenge plan to end and exterminate the Alpha Ceph, leader of Cephs.

Crysis 1 and Warhead

Crysis is set in the near future, where the US government’s Raptor team goes to an island called Lingshan Islands, near the Philippines, after receiving a distress call from one of the archaeologists, Helena Rosenthal. In the distress call, she tells of North Korea invading Lingshan Island with an unclear motive. Upon reaching the island, the Raptor team contacts some mysterious flying creatures, who kill some of their members. The three main characters somehow survive these attacks, Psycho, Nomad and Prophet.

Nomad eventually finds and rescues Helena, but gets trapped in the alien’s ship. Before Nomad gets trapped, the alien ship releases an ice globe that freezes over half of Lingshan Island. Nomad escapes from Lingshaan Island with Nomad and Helena to the US carrier Fleet. At the US Career Fleet, the trio meets Psycho. Prophet returns to Lingshan Island after the US government destroys it in hopes of destroying the aliens. But it only backfires if the radiation gave the aliens more energy. An alien ship emerges from the sea and destroys the Carrier fleet. Nomad, Psycho and Helena escape from the island, but the game ends with a distress signal from Prophet claiming he is still alive. The group decides to return and rescue the Prophet.

Crysis Warhead takes place at the same time as the original Crysis, but from Psycho’s perspective. Psycho is sent to retrieve the alien that North Korean Colonel Lee has. With the help of his friend O’Neill, Pyscho defeats Colonel Lee and returns the alien to the US Carrier Fleet, where he encounters the other three, Prophet, Nomad and Helena.

Crysis 3 takes place three years after the first game in New York City. During the second game, New York City has civil unrest due to a virus that horribly kills the host through complete cellular breakdown. The game follows US Marine Alcatraz, who wears Prophet’s Nanosuit, after committing suicide to save himself. Alcatraz’s motive is to find a scientist named Nathan Gould.

During his search for the scientist, he faces several misadventures from Crynet CELL agents and the Ceph aliens. Alcatraz finds Nathan Gould and they both team up with some other members, Tara Strickland and Jacob Hargreave. Tara is a CIA undercover agent and Jacob is the creator of Nanosuit. Alcatraz finds the core of Cephs. He enters the core spires and wipes out all the Cephs of New York. Alcatraz becomes unconscious and internally communicates with Prophet, something the Nanosuit has stored within itself. Prophet tells Alcatraz about the true history of Cephs that is their existence even in prehistoric times. The game ends when Alcatraz gets a call from the founder of Hargreave-Rasch Biotechnology asking for his name. Alcatraz tells him his name as Prophet.

Crysis 3 is set in the year 2047 in New York. During this time, New York is encased in a nanodome. The Nanodome is the creation of CELL. Prophet teams up with Psycho to prevent the CEL from drawing more power from a System X. After taking it out, they learn that the System X core was a protocol to contain the leader of the Cephs, the Alpha Ceph. This frees the Alpha Ceph, where it opens a wormhole to Cephs’ homeworld. The Cephs plan to send the mighty Cephs to Earth to exterminate and terraform the humans.

Prophet and Psycho learn that to stop the Alpha Ceph, CELL plans to use something called Archangel. The Archangel is an energy-focused weapon that draws power directly from the electrical grid. But the consequence of using the Archangel is the destruction of the Earth itself. Psycho and Prophet both rush and make sure the Archangel doesn’t draw enough force. Psycho and Prophet then go to the Alpha Ceph for the final confrontation and kill it. After defeating the Alpha Ceph, all other Cephs in the area. The prophet was unable to destroy the beam that propelled the wormhole, which in turn threw him into space. In space, he sees Alpha Ceph’s warship coming through the wormhole. Prophet remembers the power of Archangel and hacks it and uses it to destroy the warship. The warship collapses the wormhole.

With the impact of the collapse, Prophet is thrown back into the Earth’s surface and lands on Lingshan Island, the original location of Crysis 1.
