When is The Batman out in cinemas?
The Batman is due in US cinemas on March 4, 2022. Its original release date of 25 June 2021 has been shifted due to delays related to the coronavirus, first to October 2021, and now to the following year.
A UK release date has yet to be confirmed – but production has been confirmed to be able to resume in September 2020, on the condition of shooting on purpose-built sets rather than on location as was the case before the global lockdown.
It still remains to be seen whether The Batman will break from the norm of superhero movies and have an R–rating or if DC Comics and Warner Bros. stick with the traditional PG-13.
Ben Affleck has revealed that one of the reasons he quit the forthcoming film The Batman was over drinking fears.
The Batman’s Title
With this reboot changing production dates, directors, writers, and lead actors in recent years, about the only thing that’s remained constant are the title. This new Batman film will simply be titled The Batman.
It may be no coincidence that the movie shares a title with the 2004 animated series. Both projects focus on a younger Bruce Wayne early in his crime-fighting career.
“The Batman” is how the people of Gotham tend to refer to their protector early on when he’s an unfamiliar and mistrusted presence in a city plagued by crime and corruption. Reeves teased that Gotham’s residents are actually afraid of Batman, as he hasn’t yet become the symbol of hope his city truly needs.
