Now Disney has announced plans for another pirate adventure back in 2018. Moreover, after two years Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is still in early development with its release on the distant horizon.

Initial Release Dates

• The series has been renewed for a 6th installment. First debuted on July 9, 2003, with Pirates of Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
• The series released its 2nd installment Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on July 7, 2006.
• Then next year on May 25, 2007, with its 3rd installment, Pirates of Caribbean: At World’s End. Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales were released on May 20, 2011, and May 26, 2017, respectively.

Who’s in the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

No one has officially joined the Pirates 6 cast, but a popular rumor is that Disney wants Karen Gillan to lead the film, which will reportedly be centered around a female lead (more on that in a bit).

The Guardians of the Galaxy actress is also one of the stars of the Jumanji reboot film series — and as an A-list movie star, she would make a great fit for the Pirates franchise.

There have also been speculations that Disney is considering Emma Watson for the next Pirates movie after she impressed in her star turn as Belle in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. Heck, there was even chatter that Zac Efron would play a young Jack Sparrow in the upcoming movie.

As no official announcement about the movie has been made yet by the filmmakers. No news about its plot has been released either.
